He was born in the Naval Hospital in Norfolk, VA on March 15, 1944, a son of the late Fred L. and Elma A. Deem Lemley.

Wayne was a graduate of Parkersburg High School in 1962 and was a US Army Veteran. He served as a member of the Army Special Security Agency as a document courier. He spent time in Germany before being assigned to the 110th Army Special Forces Group and was stationed in Vietnam in 1963. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and was proud to have served his country.

He worked as a truck driver for 18 years with Metro Trucking and worked with Amtrack as a tour bus driver in Shasta Lake, CA until 2006 when he returned to Parkesburg. He was a member of the HOG motercycle group of Shasta Lake, Cl and was involved with the toy runs. He enjoyed his Harley, playing poker, the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed his Boston Terriers. He was a member of the Parkerburg First Church of the Nazarene.

Wayne is survived by his wife Frances Joann Davis Lemley, two brothers Rodney Lemley of Vienna, Mark Lemley of Shasta Lake, CA, several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and many lifelong friends.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his daughter Renee Jo Lemley.

The service will be at 3:00 pm Friday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Rev. Keith Hostutler officiating. Burial will be at Skidmore Cemetery with full military services by American Legion Post #15. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 on Thursday, and prior to the service on Friday.1
