Obituary* | His obituary published on 28 October 2007 at San Bernardino Sun, San Bernardino, CA; LYLE BURTON DEEM Passed away on October 24, 2007, in Riverside, California, where he lived for 42 years. He was born on September 30, 1933, in Parkersburg, West Virginia. He served in the US Army at Fort Knox, Kentucky, as a X-ray specialist for 2 years ending in 1958. He worked in medical sales for 24 years, during which time he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University. He became a well known Real Estate Broker/ Agent in the Riverside-Moreno Valley area and served two terms as President, Board of Realtors. He retired in 2006. He also served as President of the Loma Linda Lopers Running club for several years. His hobbies included photography and restoring cars, but his passion for running was the driving force in completing numerous races from 10K's to ultra marathons. He was an active member of the La Sierra University Seventh-day Adventist Church, serving as a deacon and devoted himself to many church related activities. He was a loving husband and father, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Donna L. Deem; daughters, Cherisse Deem of Murrieta, CA; Stacey Wyman of Paradise, CA, and Joan Deem of Riverside, CA. Grandchildren include, Zachary Wyman, Jaime Wyman, Nicholas Booker and Greg Booker. Other survivors are his sister, Mary Hayman of Loma Linda, CA and Kenneth Deem of West Virginia. Dad, you ran a good race!
