She was educated in local schools and retired as an Accounting Supervisor with the Bureau of The Public Debt, Parkersburg. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Parkersburg. She is survived by her son, David A. Brown of Crossville, Tenn; two grandsons, Aaron D.T. Brown of Whitesburg, Tenn. and Michael H.T. Brown of the U.S. Navy, Ft. Belvoir, Maryland; a great-grandson; a great-granddaughter; her beloved ex-daughter-in-law, mother of her grandsons, Nancy Gwynn, and her husband, Michael, of Morristown, Tenn; and special friends, Emerson and Diana Bungard, of Davisville, W.Va. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Alvie E. Brown, in 2006; her son, Michael H. Brown, in 1994; and two brothers, Paul R. Houchen and Kenneth H. Houchen. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg, W.Va. with Dr. Timothy Allen officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of services Saturday at the funeral home.1 |
